My longest running passion, one I've enjoyed tremendously since I was a child, is rea
ding. I love to read and am quite voracious about it. I love romance novels. I love historical romance novels. I love christian romance novels. I love book radio on Sirius. I love reading. Julia Quinn is my favorit author. She writes witty historical romance novels. My husband looks at me curiously sometimes because I catch myself laughing out loud at the things she's written. I also enjoy Lisa Kleypas. I think no one portrays emotion in tawdry romance novels the was Julie London does. Some of her more tense scenes have left me a crying, mass of blubber. My second passion, and one that has stood the test of time, is cooking. When I say cooking I mean cooking. I do not mean baking or candy making. I do enjoy baking a delicious cake every once in a while but I enjoy cooking far more. I'm not trained and my palate is far from sophisticated but I enjoy making something delicious and sharing it wit others. I especially love having other people tell me how delicious my cooking is. I have started trying to create my recipes. I've had some success. I've also had some failures. We don't talk about those there.
I also love to entertain. I don't do it often, maybe just a coouple of times a year. When I entertain I go all out, considering every single detail. This is difficult to do with two small children, a full time job, and a husband that is only moderately unhelpful. Birthdays are big at our house. I like to think that they're viewed as the social event of the season for people ages 1-12. I'm branching out and selling my passion now. That is not what it sounds like. I'm catering when I have the time. I'm not as high in demand as I would like.
