My big one says his prayers every night when he goes to bed. He prays at church too. He "talks to Jesus" as he calls it and to do so he has to lay prostrate on the floor, no kneeling for him. Here's a sample of what he says at bedtime.
"Jesus, I love you. You're my friend. Take care of me Jesus. I'm sick," I have pointed out at this point that he's not sick. He coughs for effect. "Take care of Mommy and Daddy and Kam and Mommy. (Apparently Mommy's condition is so bad that she requires extra care.) Take care of Roger. (Roger is the husband of a cousin who actually died a few months ago. That was one of the funerals the baby had to be removed from.) Take care of Baily (our dog). Take care of Mommaw and Poppaw. I love you Jesus. Amen."
This is not verbatim as he switches it up every night. He only recently added Mommaw and Poppaw to his request.
Cute though, ain't it?
