The neighbors called the other day to say that they'd bought Big BK an early birthday present and they would bring it over. I ws trying to unload some blackberry cobblers so I said I'd walk the boys over and trade the cobbler for the gift. We tried to guess what it was. They'd asked Big BK previously what he would like from Harbor Freight. He'd told them that he needed a toolbox with a latch and a chain. So we hypothesized that it was one of those things.
When we got next door Big BK was thrilled to find that he was being gifted with a new toolbox with a latch. Not a toy. No, he's got two of those already. No, my boy got a new real toolbox with a latch to keep that pesky baby brother and daddy out of his tools. Not only was it a toolbox, it was filled with tools! And not toy tools. Real ones including a tape measure, a set of screw drivers, a hammer, a rope, electrical tape, nails and screws. He was thrilled. He had some real tools already but not like these. He spent the day taping and tying while I spent the day reminding him not to hammer his nails into my hardwood floor. He'd probably say it was the best early birthday present ever!
