My Day Off

Today is my day off! I'm so excited. I've got a day off! I've got a day off! I've got a day off! This hasn't happened since Memorial Day and may not happen again until Labor Day. Vacation time is accumulating very slowly with this new job and I can't afford to take any of it right now. Got to save it just in case of an emergency. We're not strangers to those at our house so we know they're probably coming.

Anyway it's my day off and my plans aren't exactly concrete but this is what I'm thinking I'll be doing. The hubby is leaving to go riding with some folks from church. I'm not sure if Big BK is going with him or not. He hasn't said. He also hasn't packed up anything for his lunch, which I'm sure he'll need. I'm not sure if I'm expected to do that or not. He hasn't said.

First thing for me, I need to unload some blackberry cobblers. I've got three in my refrigerator. Got to get rid of them, got to figure out who to give them to. Right this second though, I've got to get my baby out of my pocketbook. He's emptying the contents of my purse onto the hall floor to get to my gum. "Get out of my pocketbook!" I scream that at least once a day. In this case, it worked.

Big BK wants to go on a picnic at the park so I'll be getting ready for that. I've got green beans to cook. I cook a mean pot of green beans. I think I'll make some macaroni salad too. I make a mean pot of that too. And I think some chicken salad for sandwiches. We already have dessert. Did I mention the cobbler.

Of course there's always housework and laundry to do. I don't want to talk about that though. It's too hard and it makes me sad.

That's what I'm planning for my day off. Exciting, huh?
